BLACK ZALVE or BLACK SALVE – EXTERNAL TREATMENT OF ABNORMAL GROWTHS – making herbs work
This page is in two parts:
Part 1. Herbactive Black Zalve with Zinc Chloride – our product made exactly as the original formula of specific herbal powders with strong zinc chloride; also, is zinc chloride dangerous in our salve? (No)
Part 2. Herbactive Black Salve – our chemical-free product (scroll down)

Part 1.
Herbactive Black Zalve – our product made to the original formula with Zinc Chloride
Our Black Salve with Zinc Chloride (Black Zalve) comes in small 20g and large 50g jars. It is made exactly as the original formula, containing the four original herbs of this version of Black Salve. It contains bloodroot, graviola, galangal, chaparral with zinc chloride, DMSO and glycerine. This product has a similar consistency to our chemical-free Black Salve – like a thick, moist paste. It will work almost exactly like Cansema®. Therefore it is important that you understand that it is your intention to use this Black Zalve rather than our chemical-free product. If you are unsure which one is right for you I can advise you – call me or send an email (0800 083 4436 / alanhopking(at)herbactivehealth.com).

Good evening Dr. Alan, The tumour came out on Saturday!!! It was absolutely incredible! I am so happy! As you will see in attached pictures [large thick mass on a dressing] the wound looks clean so I suppose everything came out. So far I am cleaning the wound with your 3% hydrogen peroxide. It took just 5 weeks with your Zalve. I will continue your tonics of course. I am so grateful to you! 🙂
Kindest regards, IH. UK

Hi Alan, Many thanks for your encouragement and advice. Just to let you know the top of the eschar came away this morning so things are moving at a pace. Feels a bit freaky but actually fascinating at the same time so looking forward to a swift conclusion now. J. UK

Hi Alan, Just to let you know the zalve was amazing. It dug deep down and removed most of the Basel Cell Carcinoma the first time and then I did it two more times to get it all. It is now pretty much a flat red mark. Alex

Hello Alan
First to thank you very much for the Black Zalve which worked brilliantly. I had used a couple of pots of Black Salve first which kept my problems fairly much under control and then just one application of Black Zalve completed the job really efficiently. Brilliant stuff…thank you. This was above my upper lip. Maria
————————
Application of Black Zalve
Alan Hopking MA MNIMH makes the Black Zalve and the Black Salve at his clinic.
You can apply the zalve over the lump or lesion with the fingers (with thoroughly washed hands), a fairly thin layer (do not spread over a large area – 1 – 2.5cm max [the size of UK 50 pence]). Place a a square of clingfilm over this and a plaster (surgical tape is best) over the area. Wash hands thoroughly before and afterwards. I don’t recommend it is applied to your face, ears, nose or any sensitive area without proper instruction from me. Ask me for advice if required.
The area under the salve will usually slightly sting or tingle soon after application. This is the transdermal effect caused by the DMSO and which carries the constituents of the herbs and the activating zinc chloride to the lump or rogue cells in the skin. (It is stated that you should feel a tingling sensation under the salve: even if you don’t feel anything, continue to apply the zalve morning (and night if directed) so that the zalve action penetrates to come into direct contact with the rogue cells). After 24 hours (or morning and night, if directed), remove the zalve and reapply to the same area. Tip: you can rub the area hard to roughen the skin or you can needle the area to help the salve penetrate to the tumour. Seek my advice if required.

Dear Alan, As you know I have now had quite a lot of experience using your black Salve and Zalve products due to living in the Caribbean my entire adult life.. ( I am 81 ). It did seem this last problem on my arm which a surgeon friend told me would have to be removed and that I would have to have a graft was beyond the ability of your products. Once you saw the photo you advised me to use the Zalve product exclusively for a period as the salve was not having any effect. I was not happy about it as it was already painful but you seemed confident, ( I wasn’t ) so I followed your instructions.
The results were amazing and it is hard to believe it all happened in about three weeks. Attached is a photo taken a few days ago and it is hard to believe it is the same arm. My dermatologist cannot believe her eyes.
Thank you so much , not just for the product but the advise you gave saved the day. I am a true believer from here on in!
Sincerely, Garry

You may require many applications to escharize skin rogue cells, and more often if the lump is deeper under the skin. It may take many days, or even weeks if the skin is particularly resistant. But don’t give up, continue the applications. Larger lumps or more than one lump will usually require separate escharotic applications. This action is usually painful with a deep burning sensation, and you can request herbal painkillers or you can take a brand from your pharmacy. If there are two or more lumps needing treatment you can do these in stages i.e. when one is removed and healed then start on the next one, and so on. NB never use this salve on large areas; 1-1.5cm max size at any one time. Seek my advice if required. Continue the applications until the escharis formed, then stop the applications, and allow the zalve formula to work on the rogue cellular lump and it drops off or out. This is the so-called stage of decavitation (a cavity is left where the lump was). You can then improve the healing of the cavity by applying our healing balm (order at our webstore). Keep it loosely covered allowing air and light access daily. Hydrogen peroxide 3% can also be used to prevent infection (buy it on my webstore).
Throughout this time continue with the herbal treatment recommended e.g. HerbShield, BreastShield, Black Salve Strong Internal Tonic, CBD Hemp Oil (20% is best for serious illness), LymphCleanse, LiverDetox Tonic, etc and ABC Daily Herbal Powder. Find these on our store.
Alan Hopking MA MNIMH Medical Herbalist will give you free advice and free support throughout your treatment with Herbactive Black Zalve. He cannot advise you if you are using products not made by him.

Hi Alan, I used your Zalve for keratosis on the tip of my nose. 40 years ago massive cauterizing with days of bleeding didn’t remove this keratosis. 5pm.. removed scab, applied Zalve, area approx 4mm circle. instant big burn/pain, bearable, pain subsided after 2 hours. after 17 hours became very red and swelling. Washed out all visible Zalve. Couldn’t put band-aid as nose too greasy. wet Zalve a few times. After 22 hours.. Redness reducing, no pain, scab forming. After 3 days no more pus(?)_ comes out from gentle pressure. 2 more days redness subsides. 2 more days swelling subsides. Nice convex scab forming. Doesn’t look like keratosis. Have to wait a week more maybe for scab to drop off and show result. Note. As 17 hours Zalve would not drill a hole through my nose. I left the Z on till it swelled, became red and painful again ,like Salve after a whole week!! thanks for your care and attention.
Mr T. Europe

Hi Alan, good news! The eschar on my eye finally was removed this evening. It took much longer than I thought it would but am so relieved that it has now gone. It looks clear underneath but I will keep checking it to see that nothing new develops. You are the best Alan and I am so glad that there is someone like you who I can turn to. Kindest regards Catherine

Zinc Chloride
Is Zinc Chloride Dangerous? Why is Herbactive using Zinc Chloride? What is the Role of Zinc Chloride in Black Zalve?
You may be asking yourself, why is Alan Hopking, a long-term herbalist, who only believes in herbs to treat his patients, why is he now using this chemical in Black Salve? Firstly, let me say, that I offer a choice of treatments: one chemical-free, and one with zinc chloride. Secondly, there has been a lot of misinformation about zinc chloride. And I fell victim of this scare mongering to some extent too. Zinc chloride is safe. It is used in cosmetics, mouthwashes, skin lotions, etc, see below. But the important thing is that some patients cannot wait for the chemical-free black salve to work, because it can take months of transdermal action to be effective. And often this is too long to wait. Many patients who choose this treatment are prepared to go through the short-term pain for the long-term gain. They need to act asap. I have thought this over deeply when treating many patients who choose the natural way which embraces a complete lifestyle change plus a strong alternative treatment like my herbal medicines. These patients want the following: a strong, quick acting, deep-penetrating, black salve; they do not want to wait. Their (life) time is limited. I am responding to their need.
Furthermore, it has been found out by scientists that to achieve an eschar, an escharotic salve must contain a mineral salt like zinc chloride to enhance the effectiveness of the herbal ingredients. In combination with the correct herbs, it will cause the escharotic effect on abnormal tissue. It will penetrate the diseased tissue quickly, take hold of the diseased lump and cause it to come out. It can be harsh and painful, but it is quick. This is what some patients want.
Over the years zinc chloride has been shown to be the perfect addition to Black Salve. So I now offer it to patients (as Black Zalve). They choose. I give full support and advice with this treatment. It is worth knowing that many dermatological surgeons still use the paste of bloodroot and zinc chloride.

Dear Alan, I visited you in the Autumn when I had had a metastatic breast cancer diagnosis. I thought you may like to know that my last CT scan showed bone tumours shrunk almost beyond recognition and bones grown back, exceeding all expectations. The oncologist said I should live a long life. Thank you for your help on my journey back to health. I recommend you to many people. Alison A

Is Zinc Chloride Dangerous?
No. You probably ingest this substance daily – you probably use it (in soap) on your skin, in your eyes or mouth, feed it to infants in formula, and doctors may inject it into your body. Its pH is only 5.0. Does this sound like a dangerous chemical to you? When used properly as in in my Black Salve it is not only not dangerous, it is life saving.
————————–
A note to say thank you Alan Hopking and to commend Herbactive Health Clinic for the wonderful products. I ordered Black Zalve in December 2021 to treat BCC on my face. It worked wonderfully, I applied it for two mornings then waited for results. Within two weeks there was only a small 8 CM shallow pink depression left, the BCC was gone.
My GP commented that there was no cancer left.
I’m now using it on other facial BCC locations with success. No scalpel, stitches, bleeding or wounds. If only I had found this years ago . . .
This shouldn’t be called “alternative medicine”, it’s another one of Mother Nature’s gifts to humanity.
Best Regards, Cliff

Hi Alan. Thank you for the speedy delivery of my recent order , an excellent product and possibly the only reason I’m still alive and well in the endless battle with skin cancer in all its forms ( both my parents died from the effects of skin cancer) . P
—————————–
Everday Uses
Zinc chloride is used in intravenous injections (yes, for humans), Total Parental Nutrition, dietary supplements, eye drops, treatment of drinking water, cosmetics, cleansers, hair conditioners, bath products, oral preparations, fabric deodorizer, animal and plant nutrition. In its pure state, pH is 5.0.
Detractors of “black salve” like to say that the ingredient zinc chloride is corrosive and dangerous (just as many chemicals, cleaners, medicines are in concentrated form) but ignore the many modern uses of this substance that prove it is not dangerous at all. It has been used in medical treatments since at least the 1850s. A doctor may inject it into your body, you put it on your skin and hair, clean your teeth or rinse your mouth with it.
According to Dorland’s Medical Dictionary for Health Consumers 2007: zinc chloride is included in TPN mixtures, where nutrition is injected directly into the bloodstream. It is also used as an astringent on skin, and as a desensitizer for dentin (teeth).
Farlex Partner Medical Dictionary 2012: zinc chloride was used as a caustic for the removal of cutaneous cancers, nevi, etc. and in weak solution in the treatment of gonorrhea and conjunctivitis.
Zinc chloride solution is also injected directly into the bloodstream for prevention and treatment of zinc deficiency, which may be characterized by growth deterioration, skin lesions, alopecia, impaired reproductive development and function, and delayed or inhibited wound healing.

Dear Alan, I’ve attached today’s photo which sees two distinct areas now as the middle bit came away all OK. I decided not to stop the zalving as it all seems to be going quite well – at least I hope it is. On 9 June I had a large tumour come out of the area where the original lump was that looked really quite grey and nasty (photo attached), but it didn’t hurt when coming out which was a bit strange. I’ve also had a couple of smaller bits come off too. I did stop using the zalve last week for 4 days as I went away to Bordeaux and didn’t want it to hurt while away, but restarted the zalve again on Sunday and it all seems OK to me. Thank you for your kind support throughout. Jen

FDA
The FDA site says this about the inclusion of zinc salts in infant formula: “It would … be desirable to establish maximum limits for the levels of zinc salts in foods, particularly in formulas for infants, since this segment of the population may now consume the highest level of zinc salts when calculated on a daily or body weight basis. In view of the foregoing, the Select Committee concludes that: There is no evidence in the available information on zinc sulfate, zinc oxide, zinc acetate, zinc carbonate, and zinc chloride that demonstrates, or suggests reasonable grounds to suspect, a hazard to the public.”
Dermatology
It also appears that modern dermatologists are happily using zinc chloride mixed with bloodroot into a paste. They are putting it on cancers, even deep melanomas… though that’s fine, because they don’t call it black salve. Interestingly, they make no comments about burning or corrosive effects of the compound.
“Zinc chloride is a white crystalline solid. In cosmetics and personal care products, it is used in the formulation of dentifrices, mouthwashes, skin care products, hair conditioners and bath products. Zinc chloride polishes the teeth, reduces oral odor, or otherwise cleanses or deodorizes the teeth and mouth. It is also applied topically for use in properly caring for the oral cavity. Zinc chloride induces a tightening or tingling sensation of the skin and helps to cleanse the skin, or to prevent odor by destroying or inhibiting the growth of microorganisms. Zinc Chloride has a strong affinity for moisture and will absorb a relatively large amount of water from the atmosphere, forming a liquid solution. Zinc is an essential trace element that plays an important role in metabolism and the proper functioning of the immune system.”
What diet is recommended with abnormal cell formation? We recommend the Keto Diet. Full info see the bottom of this page.

Dear Alan, Thank you for all your help and I am still amazed at how the tumour came out, albeit rather painfully at times, but without leaving too much scarring. I will need to order some more of the healing balm (I’ll do this via your website). Regards, JN.

Part 2. Herbactive Black Salve – chemical-free
————————————————–
Latest News: Herbactive Black Salve (chemical-free) is even STRONGER! It has a stronger concentration of bloodroot and includes Hemp CBD Oil also, to strengthen its action on abnormal growths under or on the skin.
————————————————–
Black Salve originated as a folk remedy or traditional treatment of external growths, warts and abnormal cells on and under the skin. Basically, its preparation is actual herbs coarsely ground or powdered and mixed in an ointment.

Hi Alan iv just used the black salve on my leg to clear a basil cell which it has cleared but it’s left my leg very sore and inflamed and quite hot on a big area around where I was treating. Can you suggest what I can use on it to calm it down. Thanks, Lisa
Alan answers: Hi Lisa, Thank you for your email and feedback. Good to hear the salve has done its job. After this strong action on an area of the skin it is usual that the body remains on high alert and continues to activate healing to the cells in and around the area, i.e. inflammation, and to protect against infection (whereupon pus would show). The best support and improved resolution to this is the Healing Balm which contains comfrey root, marigold flower and also DMSO (pine tree extract). You can find this on my webstore, and it can be shipped today. I hope this helps. Best wishes, Alan
If you’d like to order you can select your herbal products and pay direct from our Herbactive Health online checkout store at https://www.herbactivehealth.com/shop/

Your Black Salve is pretty incredible – it’s removed a few moles already on my torso and they are healing nicely (I don’t usually heal well). And I am also dosing up on CBD oil and your ABCD powder). Mark
——————–
Because our Black Salve is based on a folk remedy formulation and not a pharmaceutical preparation endorsed by the medical profession, no guarantees or claims are made about the effects or results from using our Black Salve. It must be understood that whoever uses our black salve must choose to do so based on their own judgment and accept full responsibility for any effects or no effects.
Herbactive Black Salve is made in a bees wax compound with Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis) as the main active herb. The other main/supportive herbs in our salve are Chaparral, American Mandrake, Galangal, Graviola, with important back-up herbs including Comfrey root, Poke root, Red Clover, Greater Burdock root, Cayenne, Rhodiola and Greater Celandine also oils including olive oil, castor oil, flax oil, and essential oils like pine, camphor, thyme, and organic wood pulp extract DMSO. Hemp CBD Oil is renowned for its action in and on the body; we now include CBD Oil in this Salve to increase its anti-rogue cell action. A salve is an ointment that contains coursely powdered herbs that strengthen the action.
Certain Black Salve manufacturers add zinc chloride which has a stronger caustic action on the skin, and which is quicker to get an extraction of an abnormal growth mass, see Part 2 below why I make it exactly as the original formula and have it available for patients whose abnormal lumps are close to the surface of the skin. Zinc chloride activates the herbs in the salve improving the power and strength of the treatment; the active principles gives the product its boring power and shortens the duration of the treatment which some patients demand, and for good reason. Generally speaking, I don’t like inorganic chemicals in herbal medicines nor do I think the body likes them. None of my prescriptions or tonics contains chemicals and additives of this sort. My Black Salve can work absolute wonders with the synergy of strong herbs it contains. But in some cases the use of black salve with zinc chloride is demanded, i.e. when a patient is desperate and their life is threatened and they need very fast-acting herbal treatment, see Part 2 below.

“Hi Alan, you prescribed HerbShield, the ABC powder and the Black Salve to treat my progressively enlarging squamous carcinoma on my lip. I’m contacting you because I’m amazed that after just three days of application of your black salve the hole in my lip has shrunk so much that it has almost completely closed up now. I still have an appointment to have this serious cancer removed (it’s not the less serious basal type) and I’m wondering what the surgeon will say about what has happened. I’ll let you know. But for now I’m very thankful to you for this treatment and the astonishing quickness of its action since it has almost completely healed up!” – John T. England
————————–
It is worth noting that such herbal remedies have usually been discovered and originate from indigenous peoples and evolved over generations handed down through families or communities following experimentation on themselves and their livestock. The good results they witnessed are the reason they become well known and eventually reach a wider audience. Essiac from an Indian tribe in Canada is another example. Turpentine pine gum oil used internally by slaves in America is another example (now often associated with candida cures). In fact, this international tradition of use with herbs and herbal mixtures going back to the dawn of the human race is why herbal medicine is so widely used today with an impeccable safety record. The science is in the centuries of use often by peoples divided by continents, e.g. stinging nettle. For more about the history of herbalism.
Since black salve hasn’t been scientifically evaluated, should a person decide to use it, it can usually cause a flesh wound where it has been applied resulting in releasing a thick white discharge and then the tumour. But every case is different. Sometimes just a small hole can remain. Its use is usually because the person has made the decision not to use harsh chemical drugs, or not to go on the chemo path, not to go under the knife, or for religious reasons, etc.

This Black Salve lotion is excellent, and the skin cancer on my ear is almost completely healed.
Many thanks for your wonderfully healing product.

————————–
For generations black salve has been used to cure cancers in cows, save calves from external viral diseases, treat sarcoid growths on horses, and to treat abnormal tissue warts and tumours in all kinds of pets including birds. It even became a local cure of gangrenes and leprosy for country people living far from a local doctor. It has been used to draw out splinters, shrapnel, and glass from the skin. The salve has a way of isolating the alien (tumour, splinter, shrapnel) and pulling or drawing it out.

“I had a small but prominent mast cell tumour on my leg. I took your HerbShield internally and applied your Black Salve to this malignant? lump. Within just 4 days the skin opened and a lot of thick white discharge came out as well as the tumour. Just a small hole remained. I continued applying black salve for a few days as you advised. The hole was completely clean, fresh looking. I applied the healing balm you supplied and it is now just smooth natural skin. I was amazed at the speed this worked. I’m so grateful to you because I was really worried about this tumour. Thank you.”

Dear Alan, I would like to say thank you for the help you have given me with my finger. In July 2020 I developed a red blood blister looking spot. I was advised to ‘burst it’ by a professional, this made the condition much worse, this developed, what looked like, water blisters around the area not realising this action had aggravated the condition and the bacteria had spread around my finger.
In, around, September 2020 I came to your practice for help, you told me it was a pyogenic granuloma (a bacteria in the blood vessels) and prescribed black salve lotion for the external, an anti-viral liquid and ABC powder for the immune system to take internally.
As the wound got better I boosted the intensity by increasing the lotion so the wound could start healing itself, I also used your hydrogen peroxide 3%, and I also took your AntiBiotic Tonic as an anti bacterial internal boost.
My finger was in such a bad condition without your help, knowledge and professionalism, and getting into an extreme condition, I may have lost feeling in my finger or lost my finger to blood poisoning, so I am deeply grateful for what you do, for the knowledge you have and for the help you have given THANK YOU. Kind regards, Charmaine Hammond
————————-
Black Salve is not a gentle remedy. It is regarded as somewhat extreme as it hunts down and vanquishes the enemy viz. abnormal growths in the skin. Animals which have a greater pain threshold tolerate it better. But even with animals I have sometimes had to supply a spray of the Black Salve in lotion form (no carrier ointment) so that the owner can spray-apply because the animal reacts but this is because the sarcoid is so tender and painful to the touch even of their trusted owner. Within a few days of spraying the pet (horse, cow, cat, dog) permits its loving owner to apply the salve by hand, and usually within 1-4 weeks the growth has been ejected (falls off) and normal skin is restored. But on people with superficial breast growths or other skin cell abnormalities tolerance of black salve is often a steep curve which may involve severe inflammation, swelling, burning pain (but never infection of the area under treatment), and even generalised fever as the body, in response to the penetrative and targeted action of the herbal combination in our black salve, rapidly reacts to the foreign growth tissue cells; hence the incredible swiftness of resolution that often occurs once the salve programme is actioned and the abnormal tissue is isolated and either resolves via the body or is dried up, drawn out and expelled out of the tissues. The length of treatment varies of course due to the different circumstances involved. Sometimes it may take two or three months of dedicated application.
Scarring usually occurs but for most people this is a small price to pay considering the results and the subsequent relief. The aftercare healing balm we supply helps to minimize scars.
Some people describe it as the pain and trauma of giving birth – a removal of a growth and the restoration of normal health. It is recommended that an amount of our black salve is used to last through the day (or you can apply it twice daily), but you may want to apply less but more often to help reduce the severity and fervour of the herb action (but get advice from Alan Hopking, Herbactive medical herbalist with 35 years experience). It is recommended that throughout treatment with Black Salve that internal tonics are also taken to strengthen the system, clear toxins from the body and liver and improve the resolution of the treatment (e.g. BreastShield, HerbShield, LymphCleanse, TotalDetox, SkinClear, ABC Daily Powder, Caisse-ACT, etc whatever is appropriate to complement your treatment).
We also now make a Black Salve Strong Internal Tonic that is a powerful internal counterpart to the action of the external Black Salve. This is especially useful for breast lumps and growths, but other cellular abnormalities as well. You can purchase this tonic on our webstore.

“I applied your Black Salve to a fleshy, nasty looking sarcoid in the middle of his chest which was about 1.5 inches across, and after just 3 days it fell off!! We are over the moon! Thank you for an amazing product. (we had tried homeopathy creams and many orthodox ointments and nothing happened) … can hardly believe yours took just 3 days!” Karen B, Hampshire.

How to use Herbactive Black Salve
Black Salve is an ointment and is for external use only. You will get special instructions from medical herbalist Alan Hopking MA MNIMH if the area of application is particularly sensitive e.g. near the eye, genitals, underarm, etc. There is a strong internal black salve tonic that combines the major herbs that are in the salve which can be taken with water throughout your treatment.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM HERBACTIVE: We are pleased to announce that all our Black Salve products now have been strengthened with the inclusion of cannabis CBD. Order our Black Salve Strong Internal Tonic
1. Improve your immune system’s response and defenses by maintaining your usual healthy diet or change to a health diet for one month i.e. plenty of green salads, freshly made juice with apple, carrot, celery, beet, ginger; fresh fish, fruit and veg, whole grains; green smoothies with turmeric, ginger, garlic and fresh lemon. Cut out, or severely cut down, your sugar use i.e. in biscuits, cereals, cakes and bakes (use Herbactive Stevia for your baking and cooking instead. Find out about Stevia); free range eggs; low cheese and meat; low potato and pasta; low dairy products; plenty of water and green and herbal tea. (or consult Alan Hopking for more advice). For more dietary advice see our page on preventing cancer. It is also important to take relevant internal herbal tonics to support the process of healing e.g. for breast tumours take BreastShield Tonic and Black Salve Strong Internal Tonic and Cannabis CBD Oil; for skin growths take SkinClear Tonic; for growths in glands take LymphCleanse Tonic; for warts and moles take WartLess Tonic; for all abnormal growths, tumours, etc take CBD Oil, and HerbShield Tonic for protection against secondary outbreaks. Also take Caisse-ACT (used to be called Essiac-ACT). Also take Herbactive’s 77-plus herbal powder called ABC Daily Herbal NutriPowder Plus at 1tsp per day.
2. Apply Herbactive Black Salve carefully to cover the visible surface of the wart, mole, sarcoid or tumour growth. Reapply daily or as required 2-4 times in the 24 hour period. Email for advice if you’re not sure.
3. Protect with a clean bandage each time (use one that prevents the soaking up of the salve); this is a 24 hour application. Pain and burning can be severe but to get the result you want you are required to continue the application. There are different types of application so get advice from Mr Hopking if you’re not sure which is best for you.
4. After 24 hours reapply the Black Salve as before (you may need to wash or wipe the remainder of the Black Salve away; it is antiseptic and most is absorbed into the skin leaving the coarse residue on the skin). Follow instructions #2 and #3. At this stage the area can become swollen or itchy or burningly painful; the growth may appear to grow to more than twice its normal size due to swelling and inflammation; inflammation usually occurs; the colour can change. These are signs that the lesion is being attacked and rejected by the immune system and Black Salve and herbal tonics you’re using as support.
5. Repeat this programme daily for up to 30 days or until you think the action of the Salve is finished. The time is dependent on the depth of the mass and the receptivity of your skin to the Salve – sometimes application can continue for 6 months (a short time in respect of the results obtained). If the pain becomes too intense you can take herbal painkillers or aspirin. Clean as required.
6. A sense of fever or general heat can begin, allow this to do its positive work. This may result in swelling, pain, tenderness, pus, as the abnormality is rejected by the body and it is pushed out. Clean and apply the Calendula Cream (see #3) and cover daily. Allow the body to cast off the growth itself, do not try to assist it in any way as it may regrow again. This can take up to 10 days, perhaps leaving a clean hole. There is no bleeding. The following 10-14 days the cavity is restored to normal (sometimes with scar tissue). Wash and dress the area each day as before. The area may remain tender for a few months afterwards. This is a generalised description of the progress of action as everyone will have a slightly different experience, and it will depend on where the growth is on the body.
7. Welcome the relief and the achievement and the new life you feel. Congratulations!

Hi Alan, I’ve been using your Black Salve on quite a large leg tumour. I only used it at night because of my work. I left it on all night under a dressing. In three months I’m pleased to say it is almost completely gone. I had a slight break in the skin but no hole was caused like others have reported. There’s been no pain as such. The area has been very clean with no infection. I cleaned it with your witch hazel. The prognosis was dire – just weeks to live. I’m very, very happy with the result. Thank you for all your support. Peter

Hello Alan, I try to stay away from doctors and surgeons if possible! I had a BCC [basal cell carcinoma] on the back of my hand. You prescribed HerbShield to take internally for my immune system, the ABC powder for nutritional support, and the Black Salve to apply to the BCC. Everything went very well. It formed a crust over the BCC and it became very itchy. Following your directions I applied the salve every day and within a few weeks it came away. It has left a pink area of normal skin where the BCC was. I am really pleased. Thank you. I am continuing to take your ABC powder. George. France.

Black Salve use on Tumours in Sensitive Areas
Certain growths and tumours grow where the use of Black Salve needs to be applied in a different way. E.g. tumours or growths on the neck, face, axilla, back of knee, or multiple small lumps in the breast, etc. For these kinds of tumours, this is my advice:
For your black salve application you need to proceed cautiously, carefully monitoring its action. This is what I recommend: apply the black salve very thinly over the whole area; leave it on for 4-6 hours, then carefully wipe it off. Reapply the next day in the same way. During this application it is best to place cling-film over the area and then a bandage. The cling-film is to prevent the black salve from evaporation into the air and from being absorbed into the bandage and wasted. Avoid allowing the black salve being removed by clothing or furnishings or bedding; you need the black salve to be absorbed into the lesion.
Inflamation of the area will appear, and this is desirable, but not to such an extent that it blisters or breaks down the skin. So you need to watch the response and play by ear i.e. allow the black salve more time on the legion or remove it earlier than the 4 hours that I recommended.
Its action is best if you’re able to apply the black salve regularly rather than having to wait for days for healing of the skin should your skin blister or break down.
Take your internal medicines regularly as directed.
Contact Mr Hopking if you need more advice (he cannot advise you if you’re using some other manufacturer’s black salve product).

Dear Alan, I am happy to say that the order for HerbActive Black Salve lotion arrived at the post office.
I have used it for the remaining stubborn area in the fold of my ear.
There was no pain at all, in contrast with severe pain with salve (containing zinc chloride) from a local supplier.
For my purpose I find it convenient to apply the lotion with an artist’s paintbrush.
I experience a very pleasant healing sensation, and there is already a marked improvement.
I am confident (and delighted) that it will soon be totally healed.
Many thanks and best regards,
Christopher (South Africa)

Further information
Black Salve (mixed with our powerful anti-irregular cell growth destroying herbs), is prepared with bloodroot herb and contains the same larrea (chaparral) herb which is mentioned in scientific research as specific for breast cancers*, and other herbs for effective action (now also including strong Hemp CBD). One of the most beneficial applications is its use for the treatment of skin abnormalities like warts and moles and its traditional use on sarcoids and skin and breast tumours – any growth that is just under the skin. But its use must be carefully monitored by your herbal practitioner. Alan Hopking supports many of his patients by telephone and email during treatment.
* It has been shown in research that Chaparral leaf has an anti-proliferative activity against T-lymphoma cells without affecting the viability of normal lymphocytes; it has also been shown in research that Chaparral leaf has anti-tumour activity on mammary carcinomas (Anesini C et al 1997 Phytother. Res. 11:521. and Anesini C et al 2001 Phytomedicine 8(1):1).
Herbactive Black Salve is prepared with strong bloodroot in combination with chaparral, galangal, and other herbs that may include burdock root, neem, but not zinc chloride. I do not use this chemical in my chemical-free Black Salve, but see Part 2 below for when I do recommend it. Bloodroot in Black Salve has a long tradition as an effective remedy for many skin conditions like warts, skin tags, moles, polyps, tumourous growths and rodent ulcers. There is a long tradition for the treatments of skin abnormalities like squamous cell carcinomas and melanomas, as well as other skin conditions thought to be invasive. My Black Salve is powerful as has been attested by very many happy users having had their skin problems removed by it. Email me for a full list of the herbs in our Herbactive Black Salve, Black Salve Lotion, and Black Salve Strong Internal Tonic. Herbactive Black Salve is as strong as a pure herbal salve can be (chemical-free).

“I have had the BCC on my chest completely cleared using your Black Salve. Incredibly, it cleared in just a week. It has completely disappeared. Thank you for this fantastic treatment.” – Chris T, London.
“I’m using your Black Salve with a specific herbal medicine you made for me. This is an update re my breast cancer (lump in one breast). I have been applying your Black Salve and taking your herbal medicine for over 3 months. The tissue over the lump has opened up and a lot of fluid is coming out of the wound; the tumor is visible and is sloughing off as I use the salve and it is coming away. It is very painful, burning, but this is a miraculous cream. It is working. Its a long process and I’ve had to keep trust. Thank you for your generous support.” – May H.
Update from May H: “The latest scan has shown that I have no cancer in my body now. I am so very pleased with your support Alan. However with this scare, I want to continue with your fantastic tonics especially HerbShield and the Black Salve Internal Tonic. Thank you so much.” (July 2015)

An easy and effective method of removing a skin tag with black salve can be very simple but must be administered effectively. Place a little amount of salve on the cotton-bud and carefully apply this to the skin tag, and just leave it there till it falls off, but you must reapply the salve 1-2 times daily for best results, or see Part 1 for the use of black salve with zinc chloride.
For all treatment using this salve you can get free advice from me via email or you can consult me in person or via phone (£40 donation requested).

I’ve been using your (chemical free!) Black Salve for some moles I’ve had for years. For three weeks nothing happened. Then they started to dry up and break up and get smaller. I’m so pleased and excited! I’ve kept to your regime of application up to 4 times a day and it’s beginning to pay off. So pleased it’s chemical free too! Thank you so much.

About nine months ago, my husband was scheduled to have a suspected bcc (basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer) removed surgically. I had read about your Black Salve and persuaded him to try it. He applied it for several days, the lesion scabbed over and the scab dropped off after a couple of weeks, leaving new, normal skin underneath which was reddish to start with but faded to normal skin colour after a few months. When he attended his hospital appointment, the consultant was surprised to see that the lesion had all but disappeared and concluded that no treatment was necessary. Subsequently, my husband has applied the Black Salve to another suspected bcc and two suspected solar keratosis spots (as diagnosed by the consultant). Exactly the same thing has happened to these subsequent lesions.

Using Herbactive Black Salve
Using our Black Salve can cause burning or blistering of soft and tender skin. This will happen even though it doesn’t contain zinc chloride. Some people enquiring about Black Salve do not buy our chemical-free Black Salve preferring to buy the chemical version which is quicker-acting or, on the other hand, when ours was used after getting poor results from a chemical version ours proved far more effective. Horses for courses. Chemicalized black salve has a stronger quicker action on your body, see Part 2 below for more information and why I sometimes recommend it. Our chemical-free Black Salve relies on nature itself. It needs to be applied carefully and accurately and under my direction ( Alan Hopking is a qualified herbal practitioner for 35 years). And if burning occurs you will need to apply a healing paste containing slippery elm and comfrey. But be sure that Herbactive Black Salve is strong and effective and the clearing of some threatening conditions involving unnatural cellular growths may involve pain in the area of treatment and may require taking of a Herbactive pain killing herbal tonic to reduce the shock of the elimination of irregular cellular tissue that is attached and growing into your normal healthy tissue.
We also recommend that you consider taking herbs to boost your immune system and improve the action of your eliminative systems (lymph, liver, and bowel). Tonics like HerbShield, LymphCleanse and InflammationLess may be necessary to include in your treatment, and of course Cannabis CBD Oil.
It is not our purpose to give advice or tell you what to do here. Personal consultations will provide that. We provide information so you can make more informed choices about your own health and well-being and treatment. We do our research thoroughly, we refer to orthodox and complementary research and that is why you will find more on this website than on others. We will report accurately on what we discover and based on clinical experience. You have a right to know. We make no medical claims for any of our herbal medicines.
Black Salve Lotion
We also make a Black Salve Lotion – this is a liquid mixture for external use made with the major herbs used in our Black Salve but as a lotion. I was requested to make this because sometimes the Black Salve as a salve was not appropriate and yet a lotion was.
——————–
The Black Salve Lotion is strong and it is transdermal – it crosses through the skin into the tissues beneath, and indeed eventually into the body. Its action is to fight abnormal cells and to stop angiogenisis (new formation of blood capillaries) which are used to spread the abnormal cells (to develop secondary sites). So, with extended use of the Lotion, this continuous action through the skin to the abnormal cell development will be killed (called apoptosis) in situ (inactivated). This area is then gradually broken down by the body’s immune system (autophagy) and cleared from the body. This can take months or even years to complete. Herbs taken internally can help to improve the clearing process.
——————–
We also now make Black Salve Strong Internal Tonic which is an internal medicine made from the combination of the most important herbs in black salve but to work with the immune system and via the blood stream to resist and attack abnormal cells inside the body.

“I’ve used Alan’s Black Salve and Internal Black Salve Tonic for a month on two itchy moles on my body (one on my rib cage and one on my thigh). They both have erupted and completely healed with smooth skin. I believe most all diseases and cancers are due to candida fungal infections. Thank you for seeing me Alan and for all your information and support.” Kit Campbell (to see more about Kit’s health journey on YouTube, search Kit Campbell).

EATING A KETO DIET FOR HEALTH – A HERBACTIVE GUIDE
Health benefits of Keto Diet confirmed by science: cancer resistant, lowers blood pressure, improves cardiovascular health, cures diabetes type 2 and improves type 1, resists Alzheimer’s, clears general inflammation, clears arthritis, clears indigestion, improved mental clarity, removes depression, prevents parasitic infestation, improves skin tone, regulates hormones, improved metabolism and fat loss, etc, etc. All this is due to the ketones produced in your liver when following a strict Ketogenic Diet. The ketones are used as your primary energy source rather than glucose (from sugar and carbs).
Tips Before Starting
For most normal people, the amounts of fats and protein will be enough to naturally keep you satiated and naturally keep you in a calorie deficit. That said, it doesn’t always allow you to lose weight when you are consuming more than your own body is expending.
“Macros” is a shortened version of macronutrients. These are the “big 3” – fats (80%), proteins (15%), and carbs (5%). You can use an online calculator based on your present weight, to find out how much or how little of each you need in order to attain your goals. A lot of people take their macros as a “set in stone” type of thing. You shouldn’t worry about hitting the mark every single day to the dot. If you’re a few calories over some days, a few calories under on others – it’s fine. Everything will even itself out in the end. It’s all about a long-term plan that can work for you, and not the other way around.
To increase calorie intake is easy – increase the amounts of fat you eat. Olive oil, coconut oil, macadamia nuts, and butter are great ways to increase fats without getting too much of the other stuff in the way. Drizzle it on salads, slather it on vegetables, snack on it, do what you need to do to make it work in your favour! See our comprehensive list below. To decrease calories, you will have to think about what you need. Most likely, you will need less protein as well. So, keep in mind the portions of sizes of meals. Decrease them as you need to or see fit.
Last, but certainly not least, is sticking to the diet! Ketosis is a very healthy change that happens in your body. You can’t just have “that one” cheat meal. If you do, it can hamper progress for up to a week before your body is back in ketosis and normally functioning again. You want to keep your cheats to none. Be prepared, make sure you’re eating what you need to be satiated (“full”), and make sure you’re satisfied with what you’re eating. If you have to force yourself to eat something, it will never work out in the end. This is just a guideline on how you can eat on a ketogenic diet.
Keep the net carb count around 20g or less a day, this would be a great way to quickly get yourself into ketosis.
Do intermittent fasting (IF), it has huge health benefits, and weight loss benefits, and the like. People normally use intermittent fasting for both the energy and mental clarity it can offer. But it’s not just good for that. It can help to breakthrough plateaus and even benefits in nutrient uptake in exercise. IF can be 12, 18, 24 or 36 hours. Try it!
Products used regularly: Almond Flour, Milled Flaxseed Meal, Coconut Flour, Erythritol, Liquid or white Stevia (buy from Herbactive.co.uk).
Meal Plan Introduction
Breakfast. For breakfast, you want to do something that’s quick, easy, tasty. Eggs. (“Naked, organic”) Bacon. Or, simply, Keto Coffee (which will last you all day, providing you drink water or herb tea every hour), see below how to make it.
Lunch. Most of the time, it’ll be salad and meat, slathered in high fat dressings. You can use leftover meat from previous nights. If you do use canned meats, try to read the labels and get the one that uses the least (or no) additives! Fish or hard cheese. A small salad.
Dinner. Dinner will be a combination of leafy greens (e.g. broccoli, kale, spinach) with some meat or fish. Again, we’ll be going high on the fat and moderate on the protein. Fish. Lamb. Beef. Greens. P.S. No dessert for the first 2 weeks. Then have just a few berries with double cream or mascarpone or cream cheese with stevia.
Keto coffee. This is a mixture of coconut oil, butter, and heavy cream in your coffee (also add MCT Oil if you can). This is how you make it: Add to your blender: a cup of piping hot coffee. 1Tbsp grass fed butter (or organic ghee), 1Tbsp Coconut oil (and MCT oil), 1Tbsp double cream – optional. Some cinnamon. (Also add 1tsp turmeric for a tweak to the taste). A little stevia to sweeten. Pinch of salt and pepper. 15-20 seconds in your blender, and you’re ready to enjoy it. This concoction is not as strange as it sounds. Butter, after all, is made out of cream. So when you blend the oil, butter, and cream together it just adds a decadent richness to your coffee that you’ll really like! It will help you get into ketosis (and start losing weight).
Remember low or no carbs: no grains, no root veg, no fruit (except a few berries) allowed (you will get a few carbs from greens, proteins, cheese, and seeds and nuts (i.e. only eat a little!).
Foods to eat: grass fed lamb, beef, wild game, fowl, fish, hard cheese, cream cheese, full fat double cream butter, coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, avocado, nuts, seeds, green leafy veg and salad, fresh kitchen herbs, spices. Full fat mayo. Organic cider vinegar. But be aware of calories – don’t overdo it.
Make soups with veg, dry herbs, beans, lentils, marmite, meat stock, etc then strain off the liquid to drink in place of a meal.
Drink water 3-4L per day (this may include herb teas, coffee, herb coffee); no milk (use cream instead).
Sweeten with pure white stevia (buy from Herbactive).
Remember: only eat when you’re hungry; and only eat until you’re satisfied (don’t overeat), then stop.
FOODS TO EAT (but be careful with some of them as they have more carbs! Proteins also can turn into carbs!)

Vegan proteins: hummus, lentils, mushrooms, nut butters, seed butters, protein powders (pea, hemp), seeds, spirulina, sprouted beans, tofu/tempe (organic fermented).
MCT Oil (medium chain triglycerides, mainly caprylic acid) separated from organic coconut oil, it is very healthy; it stops the deposition of fat in the cells; it turns into ketones to become the body’s main source of energy in place of glycogen (sugar and carbs); it increases thermogenesis (burns fat for energy); increases energy, endurance; improves memory and brain clarity; helps to prevent Alzheimer’s, cardiovascular disease; increases HDL and lowers LDL cholesterol; improves digestion and nutrient absorption; has a balancing effect on the microbiota; it is antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.
All other foods should be avoided because they will pull you out of the benefits of burning ketones as energy and burning fat, and you will start to burn glucose (glycogen) and start storing fat and water again, and feel low and look bloated.
Once you start this and experience the many benefits, you’ll wonder why you didn’t start it years ago!
Best of health, Alan Hopking
